This thing is still around; it's on display in Harlowton near the depot.

If ever there was a "whup-jenny", this has to be it. SOU's Atlanta Motor Shop had a robot that transported traction motors between AMS and Pegram Shop. It had its problems too. Thanks Doug!

If its only a pair of standard 600v traction motors, it doesn't need that thick of a cord to "plug it in." I've ran streetcars without wire using a "bug" that has cable only about 2-3 times as thick as a normal 3-prong outside extension cord. Its heavy, but not that bad to drag around.

I'm wondering about the use of an extension cord to run this car. I have looked at a few older photos of this item in operation in the 50's and 60's and found no evidence of an extension cord in any of the photos. Would it be possible this was run off of batteries stored under the short hood?

Upon further reflection, I believe the cord was for charging the battery in the unit. If they forgot to unplug it then it might get run over.
