This is awesome ... on top of being taken within a few days of my birth, it is also very close to where I often park on my way to work. I can't quite figure out exactly where this location is (yet), but I see the "L" in the background, so suspect it's about to duck under the NYC/RI, in the vicinity of 18th Street?

Yes, it is about to go under the NYC/RI at that point. However, the location is ~15th St, just north of the St Charles Air Line bridge over Clark St. In the picture, the Beatrice cold storage building at 15th and State (now condos) would be just off camera right. You can also see the large white apartment building at 11th and Michigan off in the distance. After crossing under the RI, it then turns southwest and crosses under the St Charles Air Line before paralleling the IC (now CN) tracks along the SF coach yard (near the 18th St bridge) heading towards the 21 St diamonds.
