Approximately 12 months after this picture was taken, I was riding "High and Proud" all decked out with my engineer's hat in the cab of good ole #10 & #11. No it wasn't my first day on the job but in my (then young boy's) mind it was! I had written permission to "ride along" for the day (under the watchful eye of my dad). Ride alongs became a thing of the past when N&W merged with Southern RR. Thanks for posting the photo. The ones in my scrap book are not quite up to RP quality.
