George was very lucky in this photo, as he caught a third E8 (under the signal bridge,) crossing over the main line on the bridge that locomotives used to move from Harmon shops, on the river side of the main, to the east side of the main. This positioned them for the next northbound passenger train, which would reach this point (from Grand Central Terminal in New York City,) behind a P- or T-Class electric locomotive.
