Great shot! A Lot of changes on the property the last two years! Please post more G&U shots!! Sad to say #9 was scrapped in Upton.

The above comment was not mine. My comment was as follows. Please note the special poling pockets on #9, most diesel locomotives had only four located on the pilots, but this little GE has two extra poling pockets on each side frame. Also please note the triangular shaped handle hanging above the rear journal of the front truck. A pull down on this handle would shut down the engines and slow or stop the train.

Oh my....now I am really JEALOUS. This is just such a cool shot taken not far from where I grew up and one month before I was born. I never shot #9 in action but do have one of her builder's plates in my collection. It's hard to believe the G&U has managed to survive all these years.
