This locomotive is actually classed as an F10, built for Boston's MBTA by the Illinois Central Gulf's Paducah shops, from former Gulf Mobile & Ohio F3s. The 1100-series, like this one, came with HEP, while the 1150s had steam generators, but were later converted to HEP once the last steam-heated cars were retired. The MBTA traded in former New Haven GP9s on the F10s, which ICG then rebuilt for other customers as GP10s. The two coaches in this photo are former Long Island Rail Road cars.
