What are the odds of three consecutively-numbered UP SD40-2s, out of a class of around a thousand, would comprise all the locomotives in a single picture, taken 37 years after their construction? It must be Belmont magic!

Looks like UP is taking some pointers from the Espee. They've installed a plow on the rear of of a unit. Now, only if they were the stylish and mean looking ones that either the UP or SP used to run 20 years ago instead of these flat-top uglies.

UP, SP, and Rio Grande SD40-2's are most common were i live. i live in the San Francisco bay area and i see freight trains most frequent but you also see a lot of CalTrain commuter trains.
