It's just a guess... but I believe it is 818. Unless you read it backwards, then it is 818. :-)

I'm betting that's not a deadman. Newer locos have crew alerters that make a irritating noise to keep the hogger awake and alert. He/she must acknowledge it by pressing the crew alerter button. Failure to acknowledge the alerter will risk a penalty brake application.

The pedal on the bottom is another way to blow the horn.

That's the horn sequencer pedal. You hit it and it automatically activates the bell and blows a 14L horn sequence, and keeps doing that over and over until you hit the pedal again.
