I think John must have gotten his captions crossed up on this one. This is a Newark to Bay Head Junction, NJ train that at this point would be doing about 70 mph on the ex-PRR Amtrak New York/Washingon mainline. It is wrong-railing on northbound track 2 through Elizabeth, which has no yard, and it certainly isn't raining. New Jersey DOT bought many second-hand lightweight coaches that Amtrak passed on, including three types of Great Northern cars. The GN cars came not only in the BN scheme shown here, but also in Big Sky Blue and Empire Builder orange and green.

Those "colorful trains" have been referred to as "Jersey Builders" in deference to the Great Northern Empire Builder train that many of those former GN cars used to run on. Thank you for sahring the picture.
