Pete, you are showing us a Norman Rockwell illustration for the Saturday Evening Post. What has happened is the lead mechanic has just arrived and has measured the fit. The piece is one 16th too short now the boys have a long night ahead. This is a classic archetype of engine house mechanics doing routine labor.
