This shot epitomizes the depth that American railroading had sunk to in the '70's. It was like a third world country, right here in the good ole' USA. You captured that lonely sad time so very well in this shot.

I wasn't even 5 years old living in Rochester at this time. I lived there until 1985 and I loved Conrail back then and sure wish I had know about this area. I love all of the shots you share Mike, thanks for posting. Your photos have shown me a lot of the history that surrounded me as a child that I never got to see. Oh if I only knew then what I know now.
