This shot is different now, what with the movement of the track to a point farther back in the campground to facilitate the expansion of the seating on that side of the track.

Really cool shot man! Nascar and trains... a nice combination too huh!

Guess which tracks my eyes would be on. Haha!

Nice shot James. I used to go to that race and our seats were in the last row at the entrance to turn 3 so I would sit and watch the race and had a great view of the tracks. Now NASCAR is boring and they don't run trains during the race anymore so I stopped going.

Loved Martinsville for the short track racing & used to watch the races just to see the trains go by, but since they messed both up, I don't bother. Thanks for posting this picture. It's the 1st one I've seen of this area.

I remember a few years back seeing an NS frieght going past on TV with 7 units, over half of which were still in Conrail livery. It sure was great watching this race on TV and seeing a train run past during the race. Great Shot!

This reminds me of the O .Winston Link picture taken at a drive in. We see the same railroad ancestry in the same state. C units replace articulated steam and NASCAR replaces the drive-in movie with the airplane on the screen, I would be willing to trade. Duke energy would receive coal with cinders already incorporated into the fuel.

I wish that I could go to Martinsville speedway to see to of my favorite things that I know so much about. A NASCAR race and trains.
