Great photo. I've been researching the disaster in Wellington for quite some time, and having read Vis Major, I must say an even better documentation of the story is "The White Cascade; The Great Northern Railway Disaster and America's Deadliest Avalanche" by Gary Krist. Most of the story is told from journal entries written by people who were aboard the two trains, the rest is historical data etc. and is very accurate and highly unbiased in my opinion; a good read for any rail enthusiast as it has a lot of good information on the people running the railroad at the time, most notably James Henry O'Neill; GN's Cascade Division Superintendent at the time.

This is a terrific photographic. It works so well as an abstract image. Good eye.
