What's the black stuff on the cab roof of the first unit? Are those slugs in the middle with dynamic braking bubbles?

I recall that the "black thing" on the right is a "firecracker" radio antenna. I'm not sure about the other. Yes, the road slugs do have dynamic brakes on them.
