I'm not so sure this is the Red River if the photo was taken at sunset in Minneapolis. The Red River arrived in Alexandria from Minneapolis at 8:20PM or so, and departed Alexandria for Minneapolis at 10:00AM or so. Could the photo be the Winnipeg Limited arriving in Minneapolis in the early morning? Or the Red River departing? This is probably unlikely since it would have to be November or later for the sun to be so low at 5:00PM. Also, all the pictures I have seen of the Red River show a E-unit as the power, also what I remember from my youth. However, they certainly could have substituted Fs at times.
