Living up in the Modesto area, the media didn't have any photos of the accident. Thank you Ryan for getting the photos.

The news up here in Salinas wasn't much different. One station said it was in the LA are, and another said Bakersfield!

I've been staring at my own photo's of #9 I took during my first visit May 2009 and wondering what it looks like today. Thanks for the shot. Be looking forward to my visit again this April to see how she's doing.

Definitely a spot many railfans have stood upon. Hope it returns to some sort of normal state. Good shot.

I've stood in that same spot but I didn't get this shot. Timing is everything! I'm glad someone was there to get this on record. Great shot and should have made the news. It's a fun picture but glad to see no one was hurt. When the tracks got repaired the number of trains going through there must have been insane.

Were firefights able to get into the tunnel to extinguish the fire, or was it allowed to burn itself out?
