Posted by Ralph Back on February 9, 2010  I photographed Yellowbonnet ATSF 315L many times in Texas leading Amtrak's Texas Chief. See my article "A Yellowbonnet in Texas - Recollections of ATSF F7 315L and the Texas Chief" in the First Quarter 2003 issue of theWarbonnet magazine published by the SFRH&MS. Yellowbonnet ATSF 315L was assigned exclusively to the Texas Chief from September 1972 until Amtrak SDP40Fs arrived in July 1973. Here is ATSF 310C at Houston's Union Station in February 1973.
