The building is crammed astride the RR and Indiana Tollway. A hulk that you pass on the way to Chicago that reminds you of what once was.

Great shot. The nearly complete absence of graffiti on the building says a lot about the desolate condition of downtown Gary.

This symbol of the one-great New York Central looks almost like it could be of ancient Greek or Roman origin. A Google search for Gary Union Station should lead to at least one web site with detail and interior photos of this great building. The interior photos are almost "spooky." I agree with the Commenter who remarked on the lack of grafiti. It seems the building is just THAT hard to get to, which probably would prevent any real future use.
