Great shot and location! Looks even better with a stack train!

I love this location. How long has Donner been available for double stacks? In my last visit (04 I think) we saw no stack trains - I was told there was insufficuient clearance and they had to run via the Feather River route. Bob UK.

Joe is showing one of the first uses of double stacks over Donner Pass. UP started this on November 23, 2009. It saves 73 miles over the Feather River Canyon route.

Hey Bob, the tunnels were modified this past summer to allow for the extra height of the stacks.
