Gorgeous, Matthew. Wonderful composition. This is my favorite kind of day.

I can't say that I agree with "amiss" on this one, Matthew - this is fantastic. I'm sure Travis Dewitz will agree - these moody weather shots are great!

Yes, I agree! Incredible shot!

Nice shot. I agree with the others, I think the weather provided enough contrast to make the colors pop. The low clouds and the color of the river adds a little mystic to the photo.

I have to agree that the weather makes for a dramatic feel to the shot. Nice job!

I must disagree with the weather. I think weather is far too often missing from shots here on RP.

The photo looks a painting, congratulations.

By posting a comment here I risk loosing first place but that is OK. This is a great first rate picture. It shows the vastness of Western Canada and the enhancement of nature through good railroad photography. I agree with others the light is perfect for all of the elements. The only thing different I would wish for is an EMD unit. Thank you Matthew for taking the long hard trip and bringing us this image.

Love the angle you took for this one, and the fog adds a great feel to the image!

I've loved looking at this all May long on my 2012 CP calendar. It's just a gorgeous image, even more so printed large. Keep up the fantastic work, Matthew!
