Bob - Nice series of N&W steam photos. Since I was born in the 1960's, I missed out on all this fine N&W steam action from the 1950's. Fortunately, I got to ride (and chase) the 1218 in her second life in the 1980's. Thanks for sharing.

The N&W lease on RF&P (and ACL) Es lasted only about a year. EMD had it's usual problem delivering GP9s fast enough to meet demand. N&W is now part of a much, much larger system, and EMD is independent and fighting for its life. Things have changed so much over time, but, Kodachrome has held up. RIP Kodachrome!
