This is one of those shots where a few seconds either side and you have nothing to show for your efforts.
A real bummer, heavy rain, too much traffic, lead railfans driving slowly. I think you got that one hole in the universe and bagged a great shot in spite of encumbrances. Thank you Steven.

Too bad a couple inconsiderate pacers had to ruin it for everyone else. It is a nice shot though, with the crappy weather making the steam condense.

Ya know, the only thing worse then being in this pack would be the pack I once followed while chasing SP&S #700. The biggest issue, the car in front of me was a police car. No passing there. Cool shot Steve - kind of what I had in mind at 4 AM Friday while in Philadelphia. Still, any steam is a good show and you had some nice shots to share.

What a mess! This is why I don't chaise steam specials, I get to a good spot early in the day and let the train come to me.

LOL, I was up towards the mid-front of the pack during this portion of the canyon Stretch cussing out the ONE minivan we could see up ahead. For many miles this person at the front of the pack pacing the UP844 held back everybody on the single lane Highway 70. Three CHP vehicles were on the chase but seemed more interested in getting photos themselves instead of regulating on the selfish, slow-down vehicle railfans...
