One of the problems with this operation was that unlike a passenger train which made various stops, and could take fuel. This trains power could run fast enough to meet the schedule, but developed a habit of running low or out of fuel. The two "B"units used on these power sets were the same ones formerly used on the Clinchfield with the One Spot in fan trip service.
