Wow, this brings back memories! When the dealership was being torn down, my Track Supervisor and I were standing about where the 3rd unit is discussing some work to be done. A natural gas line in the excavation exploded, sending a mushroom cloud hundreds of feet into the air and nearly knocking us over with the shock wave. We took cover from the flaming debris that was falling out of the sky under my hirail truck, then watched the scene as every vehicle in Ft. Worth with a flashing light on top converged on the scene. Fortunately there were no serious injuries, as the blast was channeled upwards by the excavation. However, there was a lot of property damage, primarily broken windows, for several blocks around.
