Have the relocated Amtrak into the new depot yet? I was there in October for LDS Conference, we took the Zephyr from Sacramento to SLC and back, and I was saddened, no, more like disgusted they were still in the Amshack, I can't believe Salt Lake City let this happen.

The new Amtrak depot at Salt Lake Central has yet to be built. I've seen ambitious renderings of what they hope to build, but am skeptical it will ever be completed as designed. Amtrak's east and westbound Zephyrs pass through Salt Lake City in the middle of the night, so the trains don't have any real visible presence in the city at all. Time will tell. For now, the depot site is but a parking lot with a pair of back to back portable offices offering shelter to Amtrak patrons.

The Pioneer is going to be reinstated soon, so SLC will soon have 4 Amtrak trains a day. Regardless, it's a shame that a major city like Salt Lake does this, it says to the people who pass through that SLC just doesn't care.
