Even those of us who know the truth of those words, can fall into that trap. On my way to work one day I watched the westbound go by on this little farm crossing and after he passed I started across only to have my blood run cold as the eastbound crossed just a couple of feet ahead of me. Track speed was 60, and both trains were probably at or near that speed.
30 some years later I hope I learned from that experience. Thanks for that excellent reminder.
