Excellent catch of the old 01600's at Cabot! I need to get back to Boston soon.

This was my first trip to Boston, and I look forward to going back. Despite all the interesting trains, I was surprised at how far I had to walk to find places to get a good position to photograph - and never really found one. Dense black chicken wire covers just about every bridge and overpass around South Station. This shot is taken through the larger chicken wire from W 4th Street overpass looking towards Broadway. I was there at the crack of dawn, and much of the platform area at South Station was in the shade early on. Unfortunately, I did not get time to venture to North Station. For a first visit to South Station, though, it was a pretty fine railfan rendezvous. It's always worth the trip to see icons like the Red Line, and several locomotive models I have never seen - right in their own backyards - very cool. Next time, I hope to spend less time working, and more time chasing trains.
