The eastbound CN train is running on the Canadian Pacific mainline, while the CN mainline is empty in this photo. CN and CP have an agreement to share each others tracks in this area so that westbounds use the CN line and eastbounds use the CP line. The CP bridge in this photos the second bridge to use the original stone bridge abutments from 1884. The original steel bridge was used for 25 years and then moved to Vancouver Island in pieces.
