Awesome! Last time I saw two engines at speed, side by side, it didn't get an SC but it became POTW and is now this person's #1 viewed photo. Superb composition - great dual plumes and a nice view not only of both engines but you even managed to capture the railroad names on both tenders. Very cool shot, Tom.

Wow! What a wonderful photo. I wish NS would get both of these locomotives back out on the rails again.

The passage of time and what has changed since makes it even more impressive.

Tom, from someone who has a casual interest in these two stablemates, this shot is definitely one of the best! My first thought was "here comes trouble" on the hit parade, and as Mitch said, this one should score big.

Great shot Tom! Welcome to Railpictures and thanks for showing John Scott and I around the GSWR a few years ago!

Tom, what a classic NS Steam Program shot! This was how it used to be and I'm sure most people will really appreciate this one. Glad to see you on RailPictures!

This is a great shot and I was there also and never will forget it. Thanks for sharing Gary

This trip did more to spur a tremendous growth in NRHS than any other event(s) in the Society's long history. The whole generation of Railroaders that kept the NS/Southern steam programs running have long since retired. Gone are the days when mainline steam is a summer staple. If there's no money in it, or if it slows the operation, then it needs to go away...

If only Norfolk Southern would get a steam-friendly person at the top again to bring these two magnificent machines back to life. One can dream I suppose.

Wow ! I remember this, I was there when this was shot. I think I was 17 then. Now I work for NS. Who would have ever thought it?
