Looks like the gold paint was not very heat resistant, the firebox appears discolored back to greyish color compared with the rest of the loco. It was still gold in another pic you posted. Thanks for capturing moments like this for those of us who were not around yet to enjoy them.

I had always wished that the magnificent HO or O scale brass models would reproduce real prototypes. Now I know that they exist for real!

Perhaps Sun or Challenger Brass would consider building a 1:1 scale of #5632 as a marketing /promotional tool. Another rare gem, Marty. Thanks so much for sharing!
