That second yellow and silver car is a former Union Pacific, ACF-built, 48-seat diner that Rio Grande bought as a backup for their original Budd-built California Zephyr-pool car. This photo reminds me of the first time I was able to get a shot of the RGZ along the line, as it had a GP40-2 on the point too, but the missing F-unit was the cab unit! This one just looks like a helper assisting.

What a wonderful collection of Photos you have shared with us Chris (may it long continue). We now have the W&LE, but its just not the same.
