I remember seeing two of these on a local in Plaquemine, La where I grew up, pulling over 90 cars. I could hear them coming for miles in Run 8 at about 10 mph. Those spark arresters were full and glowing orange with a fountain of sparks blowing at least 10 feet above the locomotives. Very dramatic and cool looking at dusk.
