I used to spend hours there during the mid-1980s and it was a hive of activity even then (they'd stopped using bankers by the time I started going there). I suppose with the Windsor Link and the Metrolink, the station needed remodelling as it had become rather unwieldy and dilapidated - except for the great Platform 11.
