What a shot!!

Spectacular! For those not familiar with the area, the electrified line on the left is the ex-DL&W line from Hoboken, NJ to Newark, NJ. The adjacent white buildings and yard (at the left/center) are the NJT Meadows Maintenance facility, for locomotives, m.u.s and push-pull cars. The two UP eigines leading the freight (at the bottom) is crossing the PATH rapid trainsit line from Manhattan and Hoboken to Newark. All else is the ex-Conrail (PRR) container yard, now operated by CSX. Note the yellow noses of CSX' power on the three tracks (at the bottom/center) above the southbound, which is on the ex-Pennsy freight line that bypasses downtown Newark. The Pulaski Bridge is the black highway structure running across the upper right part of the picture, while the three lift bridges across that same waterway, toward the left are, right to left, PATH, CSX and NJT lines. The tall buildings just beyond the rise in the background denote Jersey City, NJ, while beyond is the Hudson River and lower Manhattan to the right, and midtown beginning at the left margin.

What amazes me even more, is that you were able to identify the #4027 on the UP engine, and take note of it.

Sorry to comment on an older picture, but just as a little reference. The yard to the right is APL/Pacer's North Jersey container yard. All empties are terminated here and any empties booked for pickups are picked up here. This is where they do all their repairs and also where their domestic sales reps as well as other officials in the domestic intermodal programs are based out of.

This is even better than watching the beginning of "The Sopranos"!
