This looks to be the same ballast train that I saw in Billings, Montana last year. This is a slot train that's in two sections. The brownish car behind the engine and the blue car in the middle of the train power the conveyor belts in the two halves of the train to unload the ballast. These cars have a walkway on each side of the hoppers to provide access for the operators when unloading. This is an amazing concept that works very well, but if it ever derails when loaded, it's going to be a mess to clean up !
