The locomotive is a M1 class 4-8-2, with external steam pipes above the cylinders. So the engine is either No. 6867 or No. 6967. Robert Hess

I have just checked my copy of "Keystone Steam & Electric" by William D. Edson. This shows M1 No. 6867 as having been scrapped in January 1950. So the locomotive in the photo appears to be M1 No. 6967, as this locomotive lasted until June 1959. Another outstanding photo. Regards, Robert Hess
