What a fine group of photos from Renovo that you have shared recently. I believe, however, that this particular image may be Williamsport, PA where the Express is paused. I don't know of many other spots on former Lines East that had the position lights mounted on gantrys, plus Renovo is in a narrow mountain valley and the main at Renovo is closer to residences.

At the end of the platform, are those the low steel beams of an overpass? In aerial photos from this time, it looks like Campbell Street passed under the right of way, but today the street crosses the ROW at grade. Does anyone have information about that?

I do not believe that there was any overhead structure there at that time.

Historic road maps from PennDOT show that in 1941, the PRR passed over US-220 on an overpass (the highway beneath). At that time the rote 220 alignment was Campbell Street, so that must be it right there in front of the signal mast. Pretty neat! See map below. ftp://ftp.dot.state.pa.us/public/pdf/BPR_PDF_FILES/Maps/Type_10_GHS_Historical_Scans/Lycoming_1941_Sheet_1.pdf

This definitely is not Renovo. First there were two through tracks. One eastbound and one westbound. 2nd, Between the westbound track and eastbound track was ballast and a certain spots walkways about 5 feet wide for the westbound boarding. 3rd, there were no houses on the north side of the tracks, that was yard and at the location of the yard a roundhouse and the engine shops. that track to the right of the lady is not in Renovo. There was only one position light in Renovo expect for the approach's to the yard. that one position light is on the East bound track and its a little farther down from the first signal you see. The signals father down the track are not in Renovo. Another telling sign is the walkway bridge from the town to the shops is not there. That would be about where you see the signal bridge further down the line. The remark about the houses being closer to the tracks is true. In the town of Renovo they are much closer. Also that water tower is not in Renovo. Finally I question whether this is in Williamsport. For in Williamsport, the passenger trains back into the station and I don't remember seeing a place where a freight train would stand like the one you see here.
