Nice picture! I was just there last weekend (Flew in from San Diego) and got some shots from the same location, the West End Overlook. I wonder why the the fountain in Point State Park isn't runing. Interesting.

Very nice John, great eye & timing. The light on the clouds and not the skyline is a nice contrast, and interesting change from the norm. The reflection of light onto the water adds.

You and your...ridiculously good photo of storm lighting and trains. Seriously though, awesome photo, and I envy your ability to actually get those clouds and train together. I haven't had too much luck with that last part really.

Great composition, John! Congratulation! I very like view of the city! The balance is perfect between the architecture and the clouds!

How do you know it's a GP40-2?

How do I know this was Pittsburgh? How do I know the sun was setting? How do I know it was a CSX train? To be honest, I can't say for sure it was a GP40-2. That's what it looked like. To me, anyways. I don't think it was an Alco. Wasn't a u-boat. It wasn't a school bus. In sum, I can't say for certain that it was a GP40-2. And I really don't care either way. The overall scene is far more important than minutiae like locomotive model.

If you look through his photos, it seems that, somehow, John always ends up at the right place at the right time. This shot is right up there among your best in my opinion. PC vote from me.
