I sure hope they found the ones that did this, that is just completely stupid. Obviously someone's brain isnt firing on all cylinders or something.

Well, what if it wasn't anyone's fault that the stump got in the way? Perhaps the weather has been real active for the past few months in parts of the midwest that even the heavily winds that was consisted with the storms that blown thru last week might have done it as well.

I find it hard to believe that tree stump "accidentally" blew onto the tracks. Newly removed it would be too heavy to blow around and if it were old and rotted, it would have been blown to bits by the train. This is really too bad; the Geep will likely be scrapped or converted into some kind of switcher chassis.

I concur... if the stump came from a storm, the rest of the tree would have been attached. People like this make it tough for railfans to get any slack or positive looks.
