These rebuilds have lasted a long time. When CSX started to let go of these, some short lines started picking them up. RJ Corman still has plenty of these in use on his shortlines that have lighter rail or sharp curves. Rick once told me that these were like a "Chevy II" automobile. " You just put new parts in them and run them some more". Some of the Corman GP-16s are on their third or fourth overhaul.
