A wonderful photo, good documentation, old link & pin coupling, a real history lesson for those too young to have been there. Please note the air hose "cheater" laying on the deck of the flat car, When things just won't meet, this solves the problem. These are still in daily use every where, most are kept somewhere on the locomotive, now that there are very few cabooses left in use>

How elemental. Railroading in the iron age. Some wood, some strap iron, some small castings and you are good to go. (Sort of!) Thanks for being there and sharing here.
