It is so good to see those old NYC lightning stripes, and on an FM, too! Note that on NYC's H16-44s, the "half-moon" window on this side is square on the right side as seen here. This was for the head-end brakeman that shared the cab with the engine crew, and had his own seat in that corner. Many NYC EMD yard switchers had two side cab windows on the fireman's side for the same reason. On the engineer's side of the FMs, the "half-moon" is intact at both ends.
