I am thrilled to be the first to chime in on this night-time wonder! The stars in the sky are a wonderful complement to the smoothness of the snow.

Great photo Mitch. This photo screams COLD. A PCA vote as well.

That is surreal! I guess I should have joined you to take this shot. Very well executed, makes me want to go back and do it again!

Excellent shot.

A technical masterpiece. This image should be framed and placed on a wall in your home, Mitch. James

I second the PCA vote! The lighting is just gorgeous! Very very pretty shot.

Bet you were coaled out there in the winter night--sorry that's the best I got, can't compete with your wit. That is one fantastic night scene O'Winston Goldman. Nice work.

Ok Mitch, I don't know how you did it but you did it. Not only is this calender material it's the cover as well

I agree, I want to see a print of this one! Lerro Productions does some nice work. :-)

Mitch, you've done it again. It's like a broken record with you. Great shot after great shot. And I agree with AB(2), Lerro Productions does do some fine work. Can't wait to go on another of his charters.

Wow! What a shot. Nice work Mitch.

That just came out well Mitch, May be your all time best shot!

One of your better efforts, Mitch. (I've run out of superlatives, so have decided to go for understatement instead.)

Excellent in every way, Mitch. Ought to be POTW, and I will at least give you a PCA vote...

What a great winter scene Mitch! Looks like it was painted on a canvas and not an actual photograph. So much detail and colors, thanks for sharing.

The road not taken is always the better choice. Simply perfect Mitch.

Another winner from Mitch Goldman. Nothing I can add to the above comments other than I can't belive its sitting in third place in the daily view total. While a wreck is somewhat interesting and an old leaning CNW F unit is interesting, this picture should be in first place.

I am speechless! Breahtaking picture. Immensely beautiful. Can I get a huge poster of it? and my PCA vote, of course. I hope that it will get a Screener's choice or a photo of the week award.

Not much to add, but PCA!

I'm a bit late posting a comment, been on the road. But it is interesting that as I write the 23rd comment, this picture has 800 some odd hits over the three days it has been posted, while some wrecked gons and a leaning F-unit have several thousand hits each over the same period. Great picture Mitch, and as you said long ago, one comment is worth hunders of hits!

Wow, Mitch, this photo is absolute perfection! I put this down for a PCA vote, and as a favorite photo in my railpics profile. I have never seen a photo so inspiring, powerful, and perfectly executed.

What an awesome picture. I can't believe I missed this one!

Well long at last here is my 100 hits for you. Thanks Mitch for posting so many great shots. I wish this one had some sort of award attached. It has the feeling of night train romance.

Totally awesome shot!

It's timeless and beautiful night! Because of the absolute composition of bright star and powerful iron horse. I love the first beautiful sentence of the remark. That is so imaginary.

Nice tree! Train isn't bad either! Belated PCA on this gem that I missed.
