Great night shot and of an alco! I didn't even know what happened to this guy because I haven't seen him out on the line. Speaking of which do you have any idea what happened to the DL 334? It ran the line a couple years ago but haven't seen it anywhere since!

It was sold to Northampton Development Corp. and is now painted blue and numbered 2034.

This was not an ex-NKP locomotive, as it was a Duluth Winnipeg and Pacific original. The DWP DL701s featured a unique mix of Alco RS11 and Montreal Locomotive Works RS18 characteristics. The carbody is all Alco, except for the dynamic brake being situated in the short hood, in the Canadian builder's fashion, instead of over the prime mover, which was the domestic practice. That explains all the louvers on that hood. Also notice that the trucks are the MLW-specific option of a lightweight version of the AAR type-B.
