The DD40X has always been my favorite. It's sad that UP is down to only 1 of those monsters. But man it still looks brand new with those shiny UP colors proudly flying!

Good work, Smeds! These monsters always were special. I remember shooting these things on the Burlington interchange track at Congress Park before they were even lettered! Has it really been almost 40 years ago?

About 6 years ago this unit hit a rock truck in Louisiana. It was brought to the Jenks Shop in North Little Rock, AR.. there the front and nose section was rebuilt, a/c installed, and a complete paint job.
