I'd have preferred just bigger "Conrail" lettering to fill out the width of the new "safety cab" noses myself.
Never much of as fan of the "Quality" scheme either, the name of the railroad was "Conrail," not "Conrail Quality." If they felt the need to put a slogan someplace, they could have just put it below the cab numbers ala UP.
