Ah, the Long Island Railroad before they bought those ugly EMD's. I grew up on the Port Jeff Branch and remember going down to the station (Before hi-level platforms) at night and watching th coal trains come in for the hospital in Kings Park.

Hard to believe just about everything from this scene just nine years ago - the ALCO, the signal tower and PD (not seen), the Leaning Tower of Patchogue - is gone. Nice job of capturing this for posterity, Rob. A great photo.
