Posted by Ralph Back on January 12, 2008  Will Athearn be releasing ATSF 304L and 315L as "Modernized" ATSF Yellowbonnet F7s in the GENESIS Series? I hope so. Only two Santa Fe 300 Class F7As were painted in this Yellowbonnet scheme while leased to Amtrak. The 304L was assigned to West coast trains and the 315L was assigned to the Texas Chief. ATSF 304L and 315L were in passenger service in this Yellowbonnet scheme for less than one year before both were assigned to Chicago-Kansas City freight service in July 1973, after arrival of Amtrak's SDP40Fs.
