This is the end of the Hightstown Industrial Track now. The twice weekly local that plies this track no longer has an active customer here, since the warehouse owner, Prologis, elected the lease the space to a non-rail user. Hopefully, that will change when the lease expires. Meanwhile, the large tract of land to the immediately west of this line is currently under development and will see 2,000,000 square feet of warehouses, rail served, when it is complete.

Great Photo. I'm glad that those tracks at the end of the Amboy Secondary still stand today.

I grew up in Hightstown in the 1970s and 1980s. When they ripped out that line, it was a blow to the locals. I remember walking up the vacant ROW to this exact point in your photo. I am still surprised the line has lasted this long this far. The through routing was severed by the PRR in 1967. That spur in your photo went into the old Jamesway warehouse. It was used after Jamesway went belly-up, but for not much longer. Thanx for sharing this great, sad photo.

A photo of history is so wonderful. Thank you for capturing this site. The C&A has always been close to my heart as one of the first USA RRs. I enjoy the added information in the comments. Sad-- but things keep moving forward I guess.
