1977 would have had the train coming from Spencer Yard in Spencer, NC. The new Spencer Yard in Linwood, NC hadn't started consturction yet, It opened in May of 1979.

Thanks for that... I fixed it above. Interestingly, that means that this train was running from one yard that no longer exists to another yard that no longer exists. It was taken from a bridge that no longer exists (it's been replaced) and shows a scene that no longer exists (It has been radically altered - the land on the left is now Metro Rail tracks, and there are far more buildings there now than then).
